Removing a metadata template

If you no longer want to use a particular metadata template, or you want to remove a template that was created by mistake, use the Delete option next to the metadata template that you want to remove.

Exercise caution when deleting a metadata template. Once a metadata template is permanently removed from the system, it cannot be restored.

You cannot remove the metadata template that is set as the default metadata template, and if the template is the only remaining metadata template. Portfolio requires one metadata template to be specified as the default metadata template. To remove a template that is selected as the default metadata template, edit another template to set it as the default metadata template. Then, use the Delete option for the template you want to remove.

To remove an existing metadata template

1 Log in to the Admin console.
2 Choose Assets from the navigation pane.

The Assets page displays.

3 Choose Configure Asset Management.

The Configure Asset Management page displays a menu of options. (For descriptions of the options, see Fields: Configure Asset Management.)

4 Choose Metadata Templates.

5 In the list of existing metadata templates, choose the Delete option for the metadata template you want to remove.

A deletion confirmation message similar to the following displays.

Are you sure you want to delete template_name?
